There is a Cow in the Pool & Udder Humorous Stories

My Office

Most farmers have their offices in their homes. This makes it convenient to keep up with the endless stream of paperwork they face. For me, it’s too convenient.

My office is just off the kitchen. The only time I get to sit down at my desk is after dark, following a long day’s work. Not only that, but it’s only steps from the refrigerator and the cookie jar. This location makes it difficult for me to work very long between breaks.

My productivity is further hampered by an uncontrolled desire to save everything! This usually isn’t a problem until I run out of space. In my little office, this happened two years ago. Sometimes just getting down to the top of my desk takes much sorting and tossing.

At first glance, my desk looks like a paper recycler’s dream. Actually, it’s a refined practical and low-cost filing system, for I and only I know how far down in which stack the particular item I want is located.

My motto is “those proud of keeping an orderly desk will never know the thrill of finding something thought irretrievably lost.”

Just last Sunday I was determined to spend the afternoon organizing my office once and for all. So, after a big lunch, I went directly into my office, shut the door and worked uninterrupted until my wife woke me up to tell me it was time for dinner.
